What is the exact duration of the Diploma course?

The Programme takes place on 1 August 2018- 31 May 2019.

What are the semesters for this Programme?

The first semester will take place on 1 August – 12 October and 3 December 2018 – 29 March 2019.

Is this a weekday or weekend Programme?

Teaching takes place on Monday-Friday and some course elements are also organised on Saturdays.

What are the career opportunities after the Diploma?

You will have the opportunity to join Telecommunication Operators e.g. MPT/Ooredoo/Telenor/MyTel or Telecommunication Vendors e.g. Nokia/Huawei/Ericsson/ZTE or many other companies providing Telecommunication Services in Myanmar.

In which areas of telecommunications can I apply for work after receiving the Diploma?

You will acquire technical knowledge in Telecommunications and practical skills with network elements and Radio Network Planning. You will also gain theoretical understanding in Telecommunications, Wireless Communications, Radio Network, Core Network and Transport Network.

Who will be teaching the courses?

The Programme is taught by experienced specialists from Finland, Sri Lanka and also from Myanmar representing both academia and industry. YTU lecturers will contribute to teaching and practical exercises including lab work.

What is the Semester fee?

The fee is 10 USD/month.

Is there a limitation for the university regarding previous studies?

Applicants must be Myanmar nationals and have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electronics (B.E. (Electronics)) or related fields.

What is the language of the training?

The Programme is taught entirely in English.

How can I prepare for the entrance exam?

For the entrance exam, we recommend that the applicants go through Signals and Systems or Signal Processing course material.

Is an official English level test needed for applying for the Programme?

An English language test must be passed during the entrance examination day. Three hours are reserved for the exam which consists of seven sections: reading comprehension, cloze type, tenses, vocabulary, writing essay, argument writing, preposition, word order, and article.

Are internships in companies organised during the Programme?

Yes, internships during the semester break and after the 2nd semester are under planning.
